Dr. Yuen Yee (Y.Y.) Skleryk

I'm a chiropractor at Laser Health Solutions in Surrey, BC. Patients know me as Dr. Y.Y., and I've been in practice since 1997. I see adults and children, and I have additional training in pediatric chiropractic.

Drawn to chiropractic

I feel I was called to chiropractic. My whole family was under chiropractic care while I was growing up, and the vitalistic philosophy of chiropractic resonates with me. I believe that when the nervous system is working properly, the body is in a state of ease.

I studied microbiology at the University of Toronto, then attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, where I met Dr. Rob.

Building a foundation

After graduating, I started out doing locum work. I enjoyed seeing how many different kinds of practices operated, and I honed my skills and became well versed in instrument-based adjusting. During this time, my approach shifted toward non-symptom-based care, looking beyond where it hurts to the whole person.

Continuing education

My continuing education includes Torque Release Technique, developmental neurobiology, and pediatric chiropractic.

Staying active in Surrey

Family comes first for me. I practise what I preach and stay active by running. When I'm not with my family, I volunteer in the community at my church, my children's school, and Scouts.
