604-575-1331 Book AppointmentA custom orthotic is a shoe insert made from precise imprints of your feet, designed to support the alignment of your feet and ankles. It fits into your shoe as comfortably as an insole, but it is shaped around your own feet and the way you walk.
At Laser Health Solutions & Panorama Chiropractic in Surrey, custom orthotics are part of an individualized approach to helping patients stand, walk, and stay active more comfortably. We also offer orthopaedic sandals, so you can keep your support through the summer and around the house.
Your feet are the foundation for the rest of your body. When your feet roll inward too much or carry weight unevenly, the extra strain can travel up to your ankles, knees, hips, and lower back.
We use GaitScan™ technology from The Orthotic Group to see how pressure moves through your feet as you walk. A 3D laser scan of your feet is then used to make orthotics that fit you. Orthotics may help guide how your feet move, balance how weight shifts from heel to toe, and reduce the muscle effort needed with each step.
Custom orthotics can help:
People often ask about orthotics for heel and arch pain, plantar fasciitis, and tired, aching feet.
By supporting the foot, orthotics can reduce how hard the muscles of your feet and legs work with each step, which may help reduce fatigue.
Better support at the feet can reduce strain further up the body, which may help with knee, hip, and lower back discomfort linked to how you stand and walk.
Your orthotics are made from scans of your own feet and fit into your everyday shoes. Orthopaedic sandals are also available.
Custom orthotics may be included in care for a range of concerns, including heel and arch pain, plantar fasciitis, feet that roll inward (over-pronation), and knee, hip, and lower back discomfort linked to how you stand and walk.
Every patient is different. We'll look at your feet, posture, and walking pattern, and recommend whether orthotics are right for you.
Custom orthotics are non-invasive and part of your everyday routine, making them a practical option for people looking for a conservative approach to foot, leg, and back discomfort.
At Laser Health Solutions & Panorama Chiropractic in Surrey, we can combine orthotics with chiropractic care, laser therapy, and PostureScreen postural analysis when appropriate, giving you a personalized plan designed to help you move better, feel better, and get back to doing what you love.
You don't need to be a patient at the clinic to order orthotics. Call our Surrey clinic to book an assessment or ask a question.
Your appointment begins with a conversation about your symptoms, activities, and footwear. You'll then walk across the GaitScan plate so we can see how your feet move and carry weight, and we'll take a 3D scan of your feet.
Your orthotics are custom-made from those scans. When they arrive, we'll check the fit with you.
⚠️ Verify (Dr. Rob): the typical turnaround time, and whether a follow-up fitting is included.
Bring the shoes you wear most often to your appointment.
⚠️ Verify (Dr. Rob): does the clinic provide the prescription or assessment documents that extended health plans often ask for with orthotics claims? If so, replace this note with "We provide the documents most extended health plans ask for." Otherwise use "Check with your extended health plan about coverage for custom orthotics."
